iCal is the industrial standard to connect different calendar applications with each other.

This is what you need to know about iCal

An iCal integration only communicates availability. This means that when your RoomRaccoon account is connected to any booking channel that uses iCal, you will have to manage your rates on the booking channel. Rates & restrictions that you modify in your RoomRaccoon Channel Manager will not influence these booking channels.

New reservations will be imported to your RoomRaccoon agenda, yet we only receive a date and the name of the guest. You will have to match the actual booked rate as well as the number of guests manually.

Has the booker received a confirmation?

As RoomRaccoon does not know what kind of rate has been booked or for how many guests per room the reservation is actually made for, there has been no confirmation send automatically. In fact, RoomRaccoon places the booking as an option in your agenda so that you see right away that adjustments are still needed to be made.

What should I do when I receive an iCal reservation?

Whenever you receive a booking form a booking channel that uses iCal, we advise you to follow these steps:

Assign the booking to an available room
Visit the booking channel and have a look what actually has been booked
Adjust in RoomRaccoon the reservation accordingly
Set the status of the reservation in RoomRaccoon from option to booked.
Use the envelop-icon to send a confirmation of your booking manually
Some channels request from the hotelier to confirm the booking in their channel. Make sure to follow the instructions of the channel that has been send to you in a separate e-mail
